Interested in booking the Concordes for an event?

If you would likethe Concordes to perform for you or your group, send us an email with your booking query. Because we're a charity, sometimes we ask for a financial contribution to cover our transport costs, which with a suitable coach can be considerable. Having said that, we are always interested to hear about opportunities to dance in demonstration events - so do contact us so we can discuss the needs of your group.

The Concordes are currently preparing for the National Wheelchair Dance Fun Day, which we'll be hosting at Winterbourne Community Centre, Bristol. The event is pencilled in for 10 October 2009 from 10.30 til mid-afternoon - but we'll have plenty more details on this as the day approaches. Anyone interested in wheelchair dancing is welcome to the Fun Day from anywhere in the UK - if you haven't already expressed an interest in attending, email us to let us know who you are and how you are interested.

Saturday 23rd May

National Star College, CheltenhamYesterday the Concordes performed as part of the MS Society Fun Day in The National Star Centre, Cheltenham - take a look at their website here. The team danced for an hour, with their usual mix of interactive/taught sessions (some initial reluctance from the gathered crowd, but as you will see from our photo gallery, the team did manage to coax in a few volunteers!) and demonstrations of PHAB dances, faster competitive dances and social dances for mixed abilities. [Note from web editor: I had the opportunity to try out a new digital camera, so check out photos from yesterday here in our gallery. I also tried videoing four full dances, and hopefully I'll get them up on YouTube soon. We'll keep you posted through our twitter updates.) NEW - you can now see two of the videos on YouTube! Click here to watch the Concordes dance to The Scissor Sisters, "I Don't Feel Like Dancing", and here to watch the PHAB dance (wheelchair users with able-bodied partners) to "The Penny Whistle Barn Dance".

Wednesday 11th February - Demonstration at Hambrook Primary School

Concordes at Hambrook School, February 2009The Concordes had a successful and interesting day with pupils at Hambrook Primary School, perfoming two sessions as part of a Celebrating Differences day. After the dancing demo, there was plenty of time for questions from the kids of all ages, which the Concordes enjoyed answering. Many thanks to Hambrook School for the opportunity to spread the word of wheelchair dancing, and to Marie Rees - who reviewed the day with the comment, "the children were mesmirised, and so were we"! - for providing the photo.
