Christmas and New Year update: Since the webmaster here has been away for the whole of the Christmas and New Year period (exhausted by family, now glad to be back behind the computer), updates have been disappointingly thin on the ground. However, we've now added over a dozen new pictures to our gallery of the Concordes last practice session in December 2007, so check them out if you want to see more of the Concordes in their cool new uniform. In December, we also had the pleasure of welcoming Tiffany, another youngster, into our ranks, as well as the pleasantly surprising return of Michelle, who was a youngster herself when she last danced with the Concordes! Ending 2007 with two new members, we hope the trend will continue into 2008, so if you're interested in starting wheelchair dancing, why not read all about it on wheelchairdance.co.uk?
Wheelchair Users Invited to Hit the Ice in Record Numbers: On another festive note, we at wheelchairdance.co.uk were intrigued to receive a press release about an attempt for wheelchair users to feature in the next Guiness Book of Records - simply by hitting the ice. On Saturday the 19th of January, 11am at the Eden Project in St Austell, Cornwall, amputee Leanne Grose will be coordinating a (hopefully) record-breaking number of wheelchair users on ice. Leanne says, "There are not many opportunities for people in wheelchairs to get involved in exercise and set world records, I wanted to do something which every wheelchair user could join in with and have fun. Being on the ice at the Eden Project is a wonderful experience and the whole place is just great. I'm sure everybody who takes part will get a real buzz from it." If you're not tempted enough just to enter the record books, all wheelchair users and their carers who take part are promised free entry into the Eden Project for the day, along with a special certificate to mark the occasion of the record attempt. For more information, or to book your place on the day, take a look at Leanne's website.

Fun Day: Saturday 6 October was a busy day for wheelchair dancing, as the Concordes hosted the 2007 National Wheelchair Dance Fun Day, open to all wheelchair dancers in the UK. Click here to read our special report from the event.
A big thank-you to BBC Radio Bristol for mentioning the Fun Day on their morning show.
From 'Fun' to 'Funds': The Concordes will be fund-raising on 17th November 2007 at Morrison's Supermarket in Yate, Bristol (click here for a map and directions ). Our team will be hanging around with collection tins at the main doors throughout the day, so come along and meet the dancers, ask questions, and most importantly - dig deep and donate!

The All-New wheelchairdance.co.uk launches: Yes, we know we're up to our third new-look, but this one was necessary to include the UK Wheelchair Dance Directory and to reflect the Concordes new colour scheme and logo (which has been liberally pasted all over this website). We hope you like the new, new-look. A lot of the unnecessary waffle has been cut, with just two pages about the Concordes to read through; but that doesn't mean the regular updates will stop, since we still plan to have a Frequently Asked Questions section, polls and other opportunities for our readers to interact with the world of UK Wheelchair Dancing. Who knows, we may finally add team member profiles in the coming weeks! If you have any suggestions for content, or news about wheelchair dancing, please share it with us.
